As a Petworth groundworks company, we have over twenty-five years of experience working in the groundworks industry. We’re proud to say we have a reputation for quality workmanship, unrivalled reliability and professional project management. But, of course, we also need the tools and machinery to complete jobs effectively, on time and budget.
In this week’s blog, we thought we’d share some information about the dumpers, diggers and plant machinery that allow us to do the work we do. And who better to do this than our team? After all, they are the ones on the ground(works)… Did you see what we did there? 😉
Petworth Groundworks Company – Favourite Plant Machinery
We asked some of the team members in our Petworth groundworks company to share their favourite bit of kit, telling us why they love it and what it does! Read on for all the details.
Tom:
Tom loves the Telehandler because it’s great to drive and versatile. This piece of equipment has a crab shift that makes specific jobs much more accessible, there are different grab buckets, and it also has a radio!
How we use a Telehandler:
Telehandlers are multi-purpose machines that lift, move and place material
Oscar:
Oscar has a couple of favourites. Firstly he enjoys driving the Dumper because it’s great to drive, easy to work and lots of fun. Plus, of course, it’s handy for manoeuvring heavy materials from one place to another. He also loves the digger and loves the new skills driving this big plant machinery gives him.
Using the Dumper:
The dumper truck is used to transport materials to and from a construction site safely and quickly. It’s used most often at the early phases of a project when the ground is prepared for work to commence.
Andy:
Andy could spend all day on the diggers… And his favourite is the 1.5-tonne digger. It’s the smallest of our diggers, and he likes using it for more intricate work that requires focus.
How we utilise the Digger:
When it comes to earthmoving, diggers are the go-to plant machinery. With a bucket, arm, rotating cab, and movable tracks, they make light work of digging trenches, breaking holes, lifting away waste and excavation.
Rossi:
Who couldn’t love the Wacker Plate? Even the name is brilliant! Rossi loves this excellent piece of machinery as it levels out sub-bases well, and it allows him to get a large area levelled quickly and efficiently.
Using the Wacker Plate:
The wacker plate pats down any loose surface into a more solid and compact form, creating a stable base ideal for safe and secure paving material to be laid.
Toni:
Toni loves excavation, so he’s chosen the Excavator as his perfect piece of kit. Although he says it’s tough to choose between the Trenching Machine, he also enjoys using it.
And finally… The Excavator:
Like the digger, an excavator is a good tool for earthmoving, and it also has a bucket, arm, rotating cab, and movable tracks.
