What a wonderful summer we have had. Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire have all basked in the sunshine. But as temperatures cool, it’s time to think about the groundworks jobs you need to plan now. Read on to discover how to keep your building and groundworks projects on track.
Groundworks Jobs to plan now:
At Timberley, our crews work all year round. Come wet weather and winter temperatures we invest in specialist equipment and clothing so the team can continue to offer you excellent service while staying warm and dry. They’ve not quite dusted off the winter wear yet but within the next month or so things will change.
With that in mind, we thought we would spur you on to schedule the groundworks jobs that are trickier to complete in winter.
If you have a ground-up building project on the go, now is the time to fast-track your foundations. Bad weather can hamper some groundworks jobs with delays. And it’s not uncommon for foundations, concrete slabs and drainage jobs to take a third longer in continued spells of bad weather.
At Timberley, we offer an emergency call-out service help you resolve any issues related to drainage, water leaks, access, driveway damage or flooding. But, many of the call-outs we attend might have been mitigated with some seasonal maintenance.
Now is a perfect time to give your pipework the once over. We can help you avoid unnecessary expense by carrying out drainage work now. If you have water pipes rising from the ground do check exposure. And once the leaves have fallen, it’s essential to check all downpipes and gullies to avoid blockages. Talk to us about seasonal drainage maintenance.
It’s Now or Next Spring:
There are a few jobs that we simply can’t complete over the winter months. For tar and chip jobs it’s now or next spring. Other groundworks involving concrete curing need a minimum temperature of three degrees. So do bear in mind that the window for completing these jobs can narrow in a particularly harsh winter.
If you need help planning which groundworks jobs you need to complete now, give us a call. We work on both residential and commercial projects throughout Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire.
