This Friday, 24th July, marks ‘Cousins Day‘. So, to celebrate the occasion, we thought we’d introduce you to our founders and co-directors, Christian and Oliver, who are also cousins. At Timberley Projects, based in West Sussex, we’re proud that we are a family-run groundworks company. What’s more, we believe our family values translate into top-notch service for our clients. Read on to discover how.
A Family-Run Groundworks Company:
Christian and Oliver both grew up in West Sussex, close to where Timberley Projects is now based. As children, they played together, as teens they partied together, so, it seemed inevitable that they would eventually go into business together.
Christian, as the older cousin, started out as a one-man-band with a digger, gaining a reputation for good, reliable work and growing his business. Oliver joined Christian when he left school, while also completing multiple construction courses. They have worked together ever since.
Both continue to involve themselves with the everyday tasks that a family-run groundworks company requires. Christian is the leading man for overall procurement, and also runs many of our commercial projects. While Oliver looks after ordering, finances and local contracts. That said, they both also still love to get behind the controls of a digger when they can!
An Extended Family:
It’s not just Christian and Oliver that work in our West Sussex based family-run groundworks company. Their partners are also part of the team. Livvy Duncton, our Business Development Manager, is the better half of Christian. And Emma Marchant-Lane, our Finance Manager is Oliver’s wife.
But that’s not all, we consider each and every one of our team members to be extended family. Jo Scott, our Office Manager, has been part of the team since Christian and Oliver first set up Timberley Projects. The rest of our crew are long-standing employees, and that’s important, not just for us, but for you too.
Working together to provide the very best service:
As a family, we all pull in the same direction with one goal in mind – serving our clients as best as we can. In short, you can trust us to provide you with a top-notch service because our family name depends upon it. When you’re looking for a groundworks provider, we believe that you should always choose a family-run business where you can. To help you select your groundworks contractors, here are three questions to ask…
Three questions to ask your potential groundworks contractor:
- How long have they been in the industry and whether they have worked on similar projects to yours?
This will allow you to gauge whether they are the right person for your job. With decades in the business, we offer a wide range of services, so it’s very rare that we come up against a job where we haven’t completed a similar project.
- Who have they worked with in the past?
If your prospective groundworks contractor has worked mainly on commercial projects, they might not be the right person to complete the groundworks for your residential extension. Similarly, if you have a big commercial job you need to be sure that your potential contractor has the skills, tools and team to complete your project on time and within budget. At Timberley we have always worked with a wide range of both commercial and residential clients.
- Who will be working on your project?
At Timberley, as a family-run groundworks company, you can rest assured that it will be a member of our extended family. Somebody we know and trust, and somebody that you can trust too!
